WGS keeps needing talented resources to keep up with its growth. For our Outsourcing division alone, it is projected that we need around 75-100 more developers in 2012. ITHB, Institut Teknologi Harapan Bangsa, is a solid university that consistently churns out talented graduates. It simply makes sense to partner with them, thanks to our VP of HR, Feby Artandi, who leads this partnership initiatives.
Thanks also to Mr. Samuel Tarigan, the University Chancellor, on February 26th I had the opportunity a seminar to the students convincing them to stay in IT career, exposing them to the hot web industry, and persuading them to join WGS. Our CTO, William Notowidagdo, gave a separate seminar to the students introducing Ruby on Rails and its benefits as a rapid development framework.
After the seminar, many ITHB students signed up to work at WGS. It turns out the students and ITHB werent aware that there is a significant IT company like WGS in Bandung.
In summary, WGS partnership with ITHB includes:
- ITHB provides a database of superior graduates, and together with WGS persuades the students to join WGS
- Avoid brain-drain and start persuading graduates to contribute as much as possible inside our beloved Indonesia
- WGS provides consultation to ITHB lecturers, including together build a curriculum, to better-prepare ITHB students into the real-world IT industry, especially the hot web sector
- WGS will offer tens of Internship positions to ITHB students
WGS hopes to have more partnership with other universities around Bandung!
